Milwaukee Area Dyslexia Therapy Services & Support
Assessments
- Dyslexia AssessmentWe complete up to 9 different standardized and nonstandardized assessments that look at reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension. A report is provided after the assessment.
- Dysgraphia AssessmentWe complete an assessment on writing. We look at the different components of handwriting and written expression. A report is provided after the assessment.
- Dyscalculia AssessmentWe complete a standardized math assessment that looks at different components of mathematics. A report is provided after the assessment.
- ADHD/ADD AssessmentWe use standardized tests with parent, and educator input, as well as non standardized tests completed in a one on one setting. A report is provided after the assessment.
Interventions
- Orton Gillingham Dyslexia InterventionWe provide one-on-one in person or virtual Orton Gillingham intervention with certified Dyslexia Reading Interventionists.
- Orton Gillingham Math InterventionWe provide one-on-one Orton Gillingham math intervention.
- Occupational TherapyWe offer Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to address fine motor coordination, strength, executive functioning skills, and adaptations for learning challenges.
- Speech TherapyWe offer Speech Therapy assessments and interventions to work on language and speech development.
- Handwriting ClubWe provide a handwriting club on Saturdays. We work on handwriting, fine motor coordination, hand strength, and social skills.
- Learning Skills ClubWe provide a group environment for executive functioning skills. These skills will help students learn how to self regulate, and organize, prioritize, and function in school and life.
Support
- Advocacy/Assistance with IEP/504 plansWe can assist families in IEP and 504 recommendations. We can also help advocate for your students in the school.
- Dyslexia Awareness and Learning Differences TrainingDesigned to help schools and teachers, parents, and medical professionals. We can provide training on how to identify dyslexia, red flags, or other topics on learning differences. We can do this as an in-service, or at a conference.
- Beyond Words Support GroupWe have a support group that meets once a month. We welcome any students, caregivers, families, and other community members to learn more about dyslexia and help us support our learning community.
